Trustees and staff alike got into the festive mood at Salcombe Christmasfest with an array of goodies including cakes and puds made by one of our volunteers as well as a sumptuous hamper kindly donated to us which we were able to raffle.

The winner of the hamper was Susan Kershaw, who lives in Kingsbridge, who was delighted saying she had never won anything like this before.

As well as raising a few pounds, every effort was made to raise awareness with new Kingsbridge and Saltstone Caring postcards distributed among local shops and eateries. KASC is keen to extend its support further into the towns and villages around Kingsbridge and it was good to talk to people about what we can offer, both to clients and volunteers.

Peter Ralph, on behalf of Salcombe Christmasfest Organisation, Rotary Club of Salcombe, Salcombe Christmas Lights Committee and Salcombe Information Centre said “It certainly was a great night all round and the feedback has been very positive and helpful.”

Following the success of Christmasfest, there are already plans to attend the charity market section of the event again next year.
